Roger Girouard, 71 of Jefferson, New Hampshire passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on September 30th, 2024. Roger was born to Rene & Jeanne (Sigouin) Girouard on June 27, 1953 in Lancaster, New Hampshire. He was a graduate of Milford Regional High School and later studied at Nashua Votech to become a machinist. In 1974, Roger moved back to Jefferson and married Claire Boutin.
Retiring in 2013, Roger worked as a machinist at Burndy’s in Littleton for 37 years. Roger was known for his love of fishing, and enjoyed going to Canada to fish for Walleye & Pike in addition to saltwater fishing in Georgia, sea fishing in Nova Scotia and ice fishing. Roger also enjoyed taxidermy, camping, gardening, and spending summers down by the river in Jefferson. A lifelong member of All Saints Catholic Church, Roger was involved in many events and activities, notably the Men of St. Joseph’s group.
Predeceasing Roger is his father. He leaves behind his wife of 50 years, Claire (Boutin) Girouard and their two sons; Matt (Divina) Girouard & Adam Girouard. Survivors also include two grandsons, Zander & Iziah as well as siblings Paul (Melanie), Theresa, Robert and Norman. His mother Jeanne, survives as well.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11am on Thursday, October 10th at All Saints Catholic Church in Lancaster. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to a charity of your choosing.
