LUNENBURG - Roland W. McKearney, died after an illness on Saturday December 1, 2007, at Weeks Medical Center, Lancaster, at the age of 74.
Rollie was born in Gilman, VT, on November 14, 1933, the son of Terrance and Mamie (Perkins) McKearney.
He was employed as working foreman at Georgia-Pacific then the Simpson Paper Company until his retirement in 1997.
He enjoyed hunting and woodworking.
Family members include his wife of 54 years, Catherine (Demasi) McKearney of Lunenburg; his children Valerie MacAskill and her husband Stephen of Bristol, CT, Kevin McKearney of Lunenburg, Charlene Zabek and her husband Tom of St. Johnsbury, VT, Brian McKearney and his wife Tracy of Londonderry, NH; grandchildren, Ben, Rachel, Michael, Sarah, Jason and Noah; two brothers, Larry McKearney and his wife Louise of Terryville, CT, Fred McKearney and his wife Denise of Terryville, CT; two sisters, Ellen McLaughlin of Groveton, Hilda Lucas of Barre, VT; many nieces and nephews. A daughter Patricia McKearney predeceased him.
Visiting hours will be held Tuesday evening, December 4, from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at the Bailey Funeral Home, Lancaster. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday morning at 10:00 AM, in St. Leo's Church, Lunenburg. Reverend Patrick Forman, pastor of St. John the Evangelist Church, St. Johnsbury, will officiate. Burial will follow in the St. Rose of Lima Cemetery in Littleton.
