GROVETON - On Wednesday, December 1, 2021, after a 10 month battle with cancer, Ronal C. Gilcris, passed away at the age of 74. He was at home with his family by his side.

Ronal was born on February 3, 1947 in Lancaster, NH to Charles and Pearl (Demers) Gilcris. He is predeceased by both parents. He was a small business owner for many years in Groveton with Ron & PJ's restaurant and Ryan's fuel Service. Night watchman at Diamond International and machinist at PAC 2000. Before retiring he worked at Ethan Allen Furniture Factory in Beecher Falls, Vt.

On July 16, 1999, he married Rosalie (Weagle) Cushman. In total they had been together for 51 years as of September 2021. They raised five children, Robert (Bobbie), Timothy (Timmy), Raina, Tricia and Ronal (Pete). Ronny also fathered two children by a previous marriage DeWayne and Dawn.

Ronny had a passion for racing. His favorite place to be was at the racetrack. From the early days with his brother Tracy to passing that passion along to his son and grandson. He was pit crew, mentor and biggest fan to his son Pete and grandson Nick.

Ronny liked camping, spending time with his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was a jack of all trades. Ronny was a friend to all and he was there for anyone whenever they needed help.

Surviving family include his wife, Rosie, sons Timothy (Sandie ) of Berlin, Pete Gilcris & fiancé Terri Shaw of Groveton, daughters Raina (Brian) Gadwah of Groveton, Tricia McCormick of Lancaster, Dawn (Randy) Pelletier of Groveton and son in law Bob McCormick of Groveton, brother, Denis (Lee) Gilcris of Minnesota, sisters, Dorothy (Walter) Powell of Maine and June Goulet of Groveton, sister in laws Betty Gilcris of Groveton and Sylvia Gilcris of Massachusetts, 20 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren, many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.

Besides his parents and in-laws, Ronny is preceded in death by his sons Bobbie Kay and DeWayne Goulet, brothers Roger and Tracy, sister in law Ruth Houle, and his brother in law/"twin partner in crime" Wayne Goulet.

At Ronny's request there are no calling hours. The family is planning to host a memorial gathering at the Riverside Speedway at Adventure Park in the summer of 2022.
