GUILDHALL - Ronald C. MacKillop Sr., 68, died of a sudden illness Sunday morning September 26, 2010, at his home.
Mr. MacKillop was born in Lancaster, New Hampshire on November 30, 1941, the son of Edward A. and Marguerite (Kennett) MacKillop.
Ron was raised in Lancaster and graduated from Lancaster Academy in 1960. He worked numerous jobs through out the area and most of the time worked as a lineman.
He was always willing to lend a helping hand. He enjoyed puzzles, listening to country music, and singing and was also an avid Red Sox Fan.
Family members include his wife Kay (Stone) MacKillop of Guildhall; a son Ronald C. MacKillop Jr. and wife Cindy of Lunenburg, VT; a daughter Karen Ahrens and her husband Ingo of Colebrook; 5 grandchildren Tina MacKillop, Page MacKillop, Brooke MacKillop, Brianna Fogg and Ronald C. MacKillop III, 1 great grandchild, Blake Alexander MacKillop; 2 step-children Debbie Shinzy of Colorado and Kevin Littlehale of Groveton and 3 step-grandchildren, six brothers, Edward W. MacKillop of Fort Lauderdale, FL, James MacKillop and his wife Susan of Lancaster, John MacKillop and his wife Sandy of Lancaster, Michael MacKillop and wife Jade of Lancaster, Timothy MacKillop of Lancaster, and Richard MacKillop of Lancaster; seven sisters, Linda Hopps of Groveton, Peggy Brown of Lancaster, Cheryl MacKillop of Lancaster, Patricia Kipp and husband Steve of Florida, Judith Paschal and husband Wayne of Berlin, Joyce Bean of Lancaster, Debra MacKillop and Raymond Frizzell of Stark;several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents and a brother Robert MacKillop.
Memorial visiting hours will be held Wednesday evening, September 29, from 5:00 to 7:00 PM at Bailey Funeral Home, Lancaster. A graveside service will be held Thursday morning at 11:00 AM in Northumberland Cemetery. Reverend Aaron Cox, pastor of the United Methodist Church in Groveton.
