Dupont, 83, of Neal Pond, died at his home Thursday evening, April 7, 2016 after a brief illness.  He was surrounded by his family.

Mr. Dupont was born in North Stratford, NH on July 12, 1932 the son of Rosario T. and Thelma Lorena (Daniels) Dupont.  In 1953 he served for 2 years in the US Army, 5th Infantry Division in the Korean Conflict and was a long time member of the VFW in Lancaster, NH. Shortly after returning home he married Patricia McLaughlin on February 21, 1955.

Rosie was as avid hunter and fisherman, a passion he passed along to his sons and grandsons.  He enjoyed conversations about their hunting and fishing expeditions. For 15 years he enjoyed working alongside his son, Tom, on Knight Riders Charter boat on Lake Champlain.  Every year he participated in the Lake Champlain International fishing tournaments.   He owned his own airplane, a Piper Cherokee and enjoyed flying. He also enjoyed flying with his grandsons in a seaplane.   He worked as a maintenance facility supervisor for S. Bent Furniture in Whitefield, NH from 1967-1998.

Rosie and Pat built the home they lived in for 56 years on Neal Pond in Lunenburg, VT.  He cut the timber he used to build their home off their property.  He loved sitting by the campfire by the lake with family and friends.  Every summer he and Pat would take two weeks and travel all over North America.  His favorite vacation was to Labrador where he was very impressed by Bowater Paper Mill.  Rosie was always willing to offer a helping hand and assisted his neighbors with projects.

son, Larry Dupont and wife, Mary, and two grandsons, Ben and Patrick of North Hero, VT ; son, Tom Dupont and fiancé Donna Christiansen of Morrisville, VT.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday morning April 23rd at 11:00 AM at All Saints Church in Lancaster, NH.  Rev. Daniel Deveau, pastor of St. Francis Xavier Church in Groveton, NH will officiate.  A celebration of life with military honors will be held this summer at his home on Neal Pond. An announcement will be made at a later date.

Rosie's life was well lived and he will be dearly missed by his family and friends
