Whitefield, NH- Roxana "Roxie" (Harris) Peck, 98, passed away on Wednesday October 31, 2012 at Littleton Hospital after a period of declining health. She was born on September 11, 1914 in Whitefield a daughter to the late William and Lydia (Priest) Harris.
Mrs. Peck was married to her husband Sumner Peck three days before he went overseas in WWII. She worked as a Dental assistant and owned an Antique business in Reading, MA in the 1970's continuing her business after moving back to Whitefield in the late 70's.
Mrs. Peck was a woman with multiple talents who was very fond of her home and property including her flower beds and gardens. Her oil landscape paintings will always be cherished by her family. A devoted Christian; she enjoyed her involvement in the Community Baptist Church of Whitefield until her health prevented her attendance.
Beloved wife, sister, mother and grandmother, Roxie always cherished her family and gave them all her love and support. She was full of Yankee independence and amazing resilience.
She was predeceased by her husband and siblings; Mabel Harris, Helen Putnam, Ruth Harris, William Harris, Winston Harris, Lauren Harris and George Harris. She is survived by her two daughters, Betsy Ladd and her husband Thomas of Whitefield, NH, Jean L'Esperance and her husband Norman of Stoneham, MA, four granddaughters Michelle Whittier of Williston, VT, Kristin Carpenter and her husband Kevan of Durham, NH, Renee Dean and her husband James of Malden, MA, Melanie L'Esperance of Salem, MA, seven great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Family and friends are invited to attend a funeral on Monday November 5 at 11 AM at the Whitefield Community Baptist Church with the Reverend Dean Stiles officiating. Burial will follow at Kimball Hill Cemetery.
Roxie will be sorely missed by all who loved her.
