JEFFERSON, NH - Russell John Lasman, 81, of Meadows Road, passed away Tuesday afternoon, February 13, 2018, at the Catholic Medical Center, Manchester.
Russell was born in Roxbury, MA, on July 29, 1936, the son of Albert and Lily (Duke) Lasman. He attended Pinkerton Academy. On March 1, 1958 he married Joyce (Snow) Lasman. This year would have been their 60th year of marriage.
For 30 years he worked as a long haul truck driver for Blue Line Express. He was a long time resident of Derry, NH, where he and his sons hand selected timber from their land and built a log home. The family shared in farming the land and raising livestock. Russell was nearly as happy riding his tractor in the fields as he was hunting and fishing in the North Country.
In their retirement years he and Joyce purchased land and moved to Jefferson, NH. Over the years many family members, friends, nieces, nephews and grandchildren learned about the great outdoors as they spent time hunting, fishing or working in the garden with Russell.
Russell is survived by his wife Joyce of Jefferson; two sons, Russell E. Lasman and wife Tammy of Bountiful, UT, Gary G. Lasman and fiancée Denise Merrill of Meredith, NH; three grandchildren, April Collar and husband Ryan of Cincinnati, OH, Nicholas Lasman and fiancée Megan Dickinson of Concord, NH, Trisha Lasman and fiancé Patrick Morin of Derry, NH; and a great-granddaughter Lisa Lasman of Derry, NH. He was predeceased by three brothers, Richard, Robert and Roger, and a grandson Randall Lasman.
Services will be held privately in the spring at the convenience of the family. Burial will be in the Forest Vale Cemetery in Jefferson.
Donations in lieu of flowers may be made in Russell's memory to Riverside Rescue, 236 Riverside Ave, Lunenburg, VT 05906.
