Ruth S. Couture, 91, wife of the late Albert A. Couture died on Friday, Dec. 13, 2013 at the Meriden Center after a brief illness. Ruth was born in Island Pond, VT on Aug. 24, 1922, the daughter of the late Walter and Hazel Pelow Sequin.
She had resided in Meriden since 1962. Ruth was employed by Spartan Tool Manufacturing from 1969 through 1987. She was a member of Family Living Worship Center in Meriden. Ruth enjoyed her grandchildren, doing puzzles and reading.
Ruth is survived by three daughters, Alberta Roy of Meriden, Suzanne LeHerissien and her husband Paul Larouche of Meriden, and Laurie Collins of Meriden; two sons, Donald Couture of Suffield and Dennis Couture of Terryville; twelve grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; and one sister, Francesca "Anna" Jodrey of Gorham, NH. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews. Ruth was predeceased by a daughter, Bonnie Greiser; two sisters; and two brothers.
A funeral was held on Dec. 16 in Meriden, CT. Locally a visiting hour will be held Saturday May 10th at 10:00 at the Bailey Funeral Home in Lancaster. A graveside committal service will follow at 11:00 AM in the Calvary Cemetery in Lancaster.
