LANCASTER, NH - Ruth B. Reynolds, 93, died on November 25, 2011 at the Morrison Nursing Home in Whitefield.
Ruth was born on August 18, 1918, in Shelburne, VT, to George A. Bishop and Lillian G. (Miles) Bishop. She grew up in Shelburne and graduated from Burlington High School in 1936.
Over the course of her life, Ruth did office work for the Liquor Control Board in Montpelier, was secretary to the principal of Central School in South Burlington, assistant town clerk and secretary to the town manager of Shelburne. She was an active member of the Order of Easter Star #75 for over 50 years as well as the League of Women Voters.
In 1940 she married Albert I Reynolds. They celebrated their 70
th
wedding anniversary together at the Morrison on August 12, 2010.
Family members include her daughter, Nancy Page of Lancaster, NH; grandchildren Lauri Boivin and husband Michael of Littleton, NH, Suzanne Pyszka and husband Andrew of Goffstown, Sarah Hirji and husband Aly of Melbourne, FL, Scott Page and wife Suzanne of Alstead; eight great-grandchildren, Kate and Tom Boivin, Mike Pyszka, Ashlee and Shayla Hirji, and Nicole, Erica and Kevin Page. Her husband Albert and five siblings died previously.
Memorial plans will be at the convenience of the family. Albert and Ruth wished to be interred at the same time so a private burial will take place in the Shelburne Village Cemetery.
