Sandra Hegyi, age 82, of Lancaster, New Hampshire and formerly of Milford, entered peaceful rest on March 27, 2024, at the Coos County Nursing Hospital, West Stewartstown, NH.
She was born on March 28, 1941 in Milford, CT and was the daughter of the late Alexander and Anna (Kurek) Hegyi. Sandra received her bachelor’s degree at Southern CT State University and her master’s degree in education from Fairfield University. Sandra was an elementary school teacher in California for most of her career before her retirement in 1996. She loved sewing and listening to Elvis.
Sandra is survived by her lifelong childhood friend, Barbara "Bobbie" Mastriano of Meriden and her devoted friend, Irene Schmidt of Lancaster, New Hampshire. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her sister, Carol Ann Hegyi.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, April 3, 2024 at 10:30 a.m. at Saint Ann Church (St. Raphael Parish) 501 Naugatuck Avenue, Milford. Interment to follow in St. Mary Cemetery, Milford. Arrangements have been entrusted with the GREGORY F. DOYLE FUNERAL HOME, 291 BRIDGEPORT AVENUE, MILFORD, CT.
