GROVETON- Sharon M. Davis, 60, of Dean Brook Drive, died at her home on Thursday morning October 16, 2008.
Mrs. Davis was born in Lancaster on February 1, 1948, a daughter of Edward and Elsie (Gray) McGetterick.
Sharon was raised in Lancaster and attended Lancaster Schools where she was a member of the Colonel Town Swim Team. During her husbands military career they resided in several places around the United States. For a time she was the Ombudsman for her husbands last ship the U.S.S Whale. She was active in youth sports, coaching softball and was a little league scorekeeper. She was also the Director of the Eagle's Nest in Groveton for 2 1/2 years.
She was a member of the Christ United Methodist Church, where she was choir singer and in the Methodist Youth Fellowship. Other memberships include the American Legion Auxiliary, Girl Scouts of America and she was a former Rainbow Girl.
Family members include her husband Randall S. Davis of Groveton, a son Aaron Davis Sr. and his wife Debbie of Lisbon, four daughters Tammie Weinsteiger and her husband Barry of Bozrah, CT, April Wetherbee and her husband Rodney of Lancaster, Talli Kuchinsky and husband Glenn of Groveton and Randi Drouin and friend Russell Georgio of Belmont; two sisters Sheila Bailey and her husband Bruce of Richmond, VT and Susan McGetterick of Meredith, NH 14 grandchildren, 1 great grandchild and numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by, her parents.
There are no visiting hours. A graveside service will be held Saturday afternoon October 18, at 2:00 in the Forest Vale Cemetery, Jefferson. Rev. Dr. Thomas Bentum, pastor of the Christ United Methodist Church, Lancaster, will officiate.
