LANCASTER - Sheila M. Gilman, 51, formerly of Twin Mountain, died Tuesday afternoon September 22, 2015, at Weeks Medical Center after a long battle with ALS.
Sheila was born in Massachusetts on April 18, 1964 the daughter of Neil and Eualie (Russell) Brown. She was raised in Whitefield and later moved to concord, NH where she was a 1981 graduate of Concord High School. She returned to Whitefield in 1984.
For a time Sheila was an assistant manager at Loon Mountain. She also worked for G.B. American in Lancaster and many years at the Omni Mt. Washington Hotel in several departments. She enjoyed books and reading, particularly by the writer Nora Roberts. Sheila loved cats and collected cat paintings and figurines. She was also a big fan of the online game Pogo.
Family members include her daughter Morgan Gilman of Twin Mountain, and a brother Edward Brown of Littleton. She was predeceased by her parents and two brothers Theodore Brown and Richard Brown.
A memorial service will be held Saturday September 26 at 2:00 PM at the Middle Falls in Bretton Woods. Visiting hours will be held Thursday October 1 from 4:00 to 7:00 PM at the Bailey Funeral Home in Lancaster. Burial will be held at the convenience of the family in Park Street Cemetery in Whitefield.
