CONCORD, NH- Sherward C. "John" Ingerson Jr., 58, formerly of Jefferson, NH, succumbed to cancer on Friday afternoon June 26, 2009 surrounded by his family at the Concord Hospital.
Mr. Ingerson was born in Jefferson, NH on April 24, 1951, the son of Sherward and Lillian (Reed) Ingerson Sr.
A graduate of Berlin High School, he pursued a lifelong welding career as a member of Local 131, Plumbers and Steamfitters Assoc. His work led him to become a familiar face at the North Country paper mills, but often traveled as a journeyman to southern New Hampshire and numerous other states. He also served for a time with the National Guard.
Sherward, who was also known to many as "John, Sherty and Ingie" had many pastimes that included hunting, logging with horses, shooting pool with friends at local clubs and touring on his Harley. He had a mischievous grin and was a good spirited prankster who will be missed by many.
He is survived by his wife Glenna (Glidden) Ingerson, three sons Jonathan Ingerson of Dover, Benjamin Ingerson and his wife Koryn of Whitefield and Taylor Ingerson of Guildhall, VT, four step-children, Carey Landry and her husband Eric of Lancaster, Ronald Beaulieu of Jefferson, Robert Beaulieu and his wife Sara of Lancaster and Brandy Farias and her husband Keith of Jefferson, several grandchildren and his siblings Burton Ingerson and his wife Jackie of Littleton, Ruth Gaudette of Groveton, Mary Gross of Jefferson and Carolyn Ingerson of Berlin. A sister Arlene Lakin and a brother Calvin Ingerson predeceased him.
Visiting hours will be held Tuesday, June 30, from 2-4 and 6-8 PM at the Bailey Funeral Home, Lancaster, NH. A funeral service will be held Wednesday morning at 11:00 AM at the funeral home. Reverend james Michaels, pastor, at the Lancaster Assembly of God, will officiate. A luncheon will follow at, 363 fellows Road, Guildhall, VT.
