LANCASTER - Stanley L. Walther, 61, of Second Street, died suddenly Thursday May 28, 2009, at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center, Lebanon. Mr. Walther was born on November 14, 1947 in Albany, NY, the son of Stanley L. Walther Sr. and Anne T. (O'Bryan) Walther. He was raised and lived in New York until 1973 when he moved with his family to New Hampshire. For many years he worked plumbing and heating for Stiles Fuel in Whitefield. More recently he was a driver for North Country Transit. Stanley enjoyed music, motorcycles, fishing and the NY Yankees. He was also an enthusiastic member of the morning coffee club at Ray & Deb's in Lancaster. Family members include his wife Catherine J. (Harrington) Walther of Lancaster; two sons, Nathaniel D. Walther of Lunenburg, Andrew Z. Walther of Lancaster; two daughters, Amy Lee Reed of Dalton, Erin C. Rivera of North Carolina; his mother Anne T. Walther of Albany, NY; five grandchildren; two brothers, Thomas Walther and Ronald Walther both of New York; two sisters, Diane Dinova and Maureen Smith both of New York; and many nieces and nephews. Memorial visiting hours will be held Saturday afternoon May 30 from 1:00 to 3:00 PM at the Bailey Funeral Home, Lancaster. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM during the visiting hours.
