Stanley Ernest Wright

STRATFORD - Stanley E. Wright, 81, died peacefully at his home Thursday afternoon, November 29th, 2018 after a lengthy illness. He was surrounded by his loving family.

Stanley was born in Lancaster on April 6, 1937 the son of Ernest B. and Catherine M. (Eldred) Wright. Most of his life he resided in Groveton and was a graduate of Groveton High School. On November 23, 1963, he married Beverly M. Boudle of Lancaster. For 42 years he worked as a papermaker retiring from Wausau Paper, Groveton Division. Stanley was a hard worker and often had a second job as a woodsman.

In his spare time Stanley enjoyed the outdoors. He loved to hunt, fish and go four-wheeling. He shared his love of fishing and coin collecting with his grandsons. He was also gun collector and loved big family cookouts.

Surviving family members include his wife Beverly of Stratford; his two children, Roger Boudle of Berlin and Cathy Roby of Groveton; two grandsons Andrew Roby of Groveton and Adam Roby of Berlin; and two great-granddaughters. He was predeceased by two brothers, Kenneth Wright and Bernard Maynard.

Visiting hours will be held Tuesday afternoon and evening, December 4th from 2:00 - 4:00 and 7:00-9:00 PM at the Bailey Funeral Home in Lancaster. A funeral service will be held Wednesday morning at 11:00 AM at the funeral home. A private family committal will follow in Summer Street Cemetery.
