GUILDHALL - Sue-Ann Simpson, 69, of Route 102, died suddenly at her home Saturday, November 26, 2016.
Mrs. Simpson was born in Lancaster on June 10, 1947, the daughter of John and Eleanor (Robertson) Jordan.
Sue-Ann was longtime resident of Groveton and a graduate of Groveton High School. In 1989 she moved to Guildhall where she has resided since. She was a horse enthusiast, enjoyed poker, cards, camp, puzzles, crosswords, wildlife, scratch tickets and her never ending bowls of candy. She was a huge fan of the Red Sox and Patriots and enjoyed watching Jeopardy and Wheel of Fortune. Her devotion to her beloved cat Scootie and her amazing grandchildren was unsurpassed. For 31 years she was employed with Manchester Knitted Fashions.
Surviving family members include her children, Joelle Rooney Bastian and Don Meek of Lancaster, John E. Rooney and wife Jodi (Smith) Rooney of Lancaster, Robert A. Simpson of Littleton; grandchildren, Mikala, Jordan, and Myah Bastian, Chelsey and Chad Kenison, Jillian Rooney, Lukas, Christian, Gavin, Ava and Emma Simpson; a sister Linda Young of Linfield, PA; nieces and nephews, Karla and Michael Trawitz, Autumn and Hailey Trawitz, Phillip "Butch" and Pam Young, Aaron and Ella Young. She was predeceased by her husband Jon Simpson; her longtime companion Gary McGuire; and a brother-in-law Phillip Young.
Memorial visiting hours will held Saturday, December 3rd , from 10:00AM to 12:00PM at the Bailey Funeral Home in Lancaster. A graveside committal service will be held Saturday morning, June 10th, at 11:00 AM in Northumberland Cemetery, Groveton. Reverend Timothy Brooks, pastor of St. Paul's Church in Lancaster, will officiate.
