GRANBY - Susan F. LaMadeleine, 72, passed away on September 20, 2021 at Weeks Medical Center. Sue was born on April 7, 1949 in Littleton, NH.
Sue left behind her daughter Shelly Houde and son-in-law Ryan Houde, 2 grandchildren Adam Powell and Hannah Powell, sister Evelyn Berg and family, sister Judy Case and husband Harold Case and family, brother Micky Forbes and family, brother Dicky Forbes and wife Ginger and family, sister-in-law Priscilla Hodgdon and family, many nieces and nephews, cousins and friends.
She was predeceased by her first husband Donald Hodgdon, second husband Denis LaMadeleine, her daughter Cari Hodgdon and her parents, plus many other loving family members from the Forbe's, the Hodgdon's, the Brown's, and more.
Sue worked a few different jobs in her lifetime, but her favorite was Weeks Home Health. She loved doing errands for her patients and they became her family. Sue loved all her family and friends, she enjoyed those who stopped in to say hello, share a coffee or tea and munchies. Sue/Mom loved to play games, but you better not cheat. She talked about her favorite shows, Dr. Poll, Ghost Hunters, Heartland, The Zoo, etc. She enjoyed BBQ's especially if you were having chicken and brownie Sundaes. In her younger years she loved camping and spending a few days at Fryberg Fair with her husband Donald, her two daughters and other close family and friends. She always looked forward to the yearly Christmas Shopping trip to North Conway, and never forgot the year we got snowed in and had to get a motel room.
Sue loved going for random rides, especially during foliage season. She appreciated everything her family did for her over the last few years and enjoyed spending time with her daughter Shelly, son-in-law Ryan, Adams, Hannah and Adam's girlfriend Meggan Thresher. She told Adam don't let this one get away.
I could write thousands of words about who mom was and what she did, that being said she meant the world to us and we're gonna miss her.
A graveside service will be held on Saturday, October 2, 2021 at 1:00PM at the Appleton Cemetery, Granby, VT, followed by a luncheon at the Granby Town Hall. Reverend Ann Hockridge, pastor of the Lower Waterford Congregational Church, will officiate the service.
