LUNENBURG - Susan E. Powers, 67, of Lake Road, died Tuesday, October 25, 2011, at the Littleton Regional Hospital, after a long battle with cancer.
Mrs. Powers was a lifetime resident of Lunenburg, born there on June 7, 1944, the daughter of Raymond William and Lorretta M. (Wood) McLaughlin.
Susan held several jobs during her lifetime. She was a bookmaker at the Stinehour Press, operated her own craft business and helped with her husband's business. For the Lunenburg Fire District #1 she was a volunteer and secretary for many years. She was a nurse to many and enjoyed gardening.
She was a member of St. Leo's Church in Lunenburg and the Mountain View Baptist Church in Lancaster.
Family members include three sisters, Geraldine Pinette, Patricia Dupont, Virginia "Ginger" Savage White, all of Lunenburg; and many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. Her husband Kenneth A. Powers predeceased her in 2005.
At her request there are no visiting hours. A memorial service will be held Wednesday, November 9, at 11:00 AM, in the United Methodist Church in Lunenburg. Rev. John Sommers, pastor, will officiate.
