Sylvia A. O'Neal

LUNENBURG, VT- Sylvia O'Neal, 73, of W. Lunenburg Road died Friday morning, December 7, 2007, at Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center after a sudden illness.
Mrs. O'Neal was born in East Lyme, Connecticut on January 2, 1934, the only child of Caleb and Esther (Carlson) Johnson.
Sylvia was raised in Naugatuck, CT and was a graduate of Naugatuck High School; she attended New Haven Nursing School where she earned her nursing degree. She worked for several years at New Haven Hospital. She moved to Lunenburg in 1984 and began working for St. Johnsbury Home Health and for a time as a Nurses Aid at Morrison Nursing Home in Whitefield.
She enjoyed crocheting, collecting lighthouses, camping and traveling.
Family members include a daughter Laurie Whetzel of Houston, Texas; a son Donald Ray O'Neal Jr.of Lunenburg, VT; 7 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. She was predeceased by, her son Robert C. O'Neal and a daughter Bonnie O'Neal.
Memorial visiting hours will be held on Monday December 10 from 4-6 PM at the Bailey Funeral Home. A graveside service will be held in the spring at Riverside Cemetery, Lunenburg.
