Obituary

Theresa Racine of Lunenburg, VT passed away peacefully on October 14, 2026, at Citrus Heights Acute facility in California. Born on July 8, 1943, in Massachusetts to Theodore and Alva Tremblay.

Theresa married the love of her life, Jacques Racine, in June 1963, in Orleans, Vermont. Together, they built a home in Lunenburg, Vermont, where they shared 50 wonderful years. Theresa and Jacques shared a unique adventure during their early years, spent time “on the road” traveling across the United States for Jacques’ work as a truck driver.

Theresa's family included her two children, Leon (and wife Sharon) and Lisa (and husband Rick). She was a devoted grandmother to four grandchildren and great-grandmother to six great-grandchildren.

Her career was marked by dedication and compassion. Theresa worked at Stinehour Press before devoting herself to the important role of homemaker. Her nurturing spirit extended beyond her family to her volunteer work at Weeks Medical Center, where she dedicated countless hours to patient sitting, earning an award for her many hours of service.

Theresa had a remarkable talent for creating beauty and warmth in her home. Her love for cooking, crafting, quilting, and gardening enriched her life and those around her. She took great pride in canning the produce she harvested, ensuring her family's table was always filled with homemade goodness. Her creativity shone brightly during the holidays, especially at Christmas, when she adorned her home with beautiful displays of Christmas trees, Santa Clauses, snowmen, teddy bears, and Victorian dolls.

Theresa found joy in the simple pleasures of life, such as feeding and watching the birds from her porch and tending to the fish in her pond. These moments of tranquility reflected her gentle spirit and deep appreciation for nature's beauty.

Theresa is predeceased by her parents, her brother Theodore, and her beloved husband Jacques. Her legacy of love, kindness, and generosity lives on through her family, who will continue to celebrate her life and cherish her memory.

A graveside service to honor Theresa's life will be held at St. Theresa Cemetery on Tanguay Lane in Barton, Vermont at family convenience. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in Theresa's memory to the Woodlands Veterinary Clinic in Lancaster, NH, a testament to her enduring love for animals.

Theresa will be remembered for her boundless compassion, her unwavering dedication to family, and the joy she brought to everyone who knew her.
