LANCASTER - Thomas P. Gratton, 76, died Monday morning December 21, 2009, at Country Village Genesis Health Care Center, Lancaster.
Mr. Gratton was born in Minneapolis, MN, on February 24, 1933, the son of Francis Xavier and Helen Catherine (Eisenkramer) Gratton.
Tom was raised in Minneapolis and went on to serve 20 years with the US Air Force. During his military career he served in Vietnam as an air rescue helicopter medic and on the 16
th
Special Operation C-130 Gunships. He retired from the military in 1972 and resided in Florida where he was employed for many years as an Oriental rug sales representative. He moved to New Hampshire in 1995 residing in Twin Mountain for two years before moving to Lancaster.
Memberships include the Lancaster VFW and the Loyal Order of Moose in Florida. He was a volunteer at the Twin Mountain Fish & Game. Fishing was a favorite pastime.
Family members include a sister Susan Murry and her husband Jerry of Ham Lake, MN. He was predeceased by his parents and a sister Barbara Gerjets.
Visiting hours will be held Wednesday evening, January 6, from 6:30 to 8:30 PM at the Bailey Funeral Home, Lancaster. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday morning, January 7, at 11:00 AM at All Saints Church, Lancaster. Rev. Raymond Ball, pastor, will officiate. Burial with military honors will be held in the spring in Calvary Cemetery, Lancaster
