Thomas H. Kingston, 72 of Lancaster, passed away peacefully surrounded by his wife and children on August 17, 2012 at Dartmouth Hitchcock in Lebanon.

Mr. Kingston was born February 5, 1940 to Henry and Anna (Murphy) Kingston in Medford, MA. Growing up in Watertown MA, Tom worked in his fathers flooring store where he also ran his own hobby shop. Always the entrepreneur, he opened and operated his own flooring store in Marshfield, MA from 1969 to 1974 when he moved his family to Lancaster, NH. Shortly thereafter he opened The Carpet Barn.

As an avid bicyclist, Tom road his bike from Maine to Florida in 1991 with a fundraising group, raising money for the Alzheimer's foundation in memory of his mother. After becoming a double amputee, Tom continued to ride a bike inspiring many as well as recently leading a Mardi Gras parade on his bicycle in Ellenton, FL where he and his wife spent their winters.

As Tom neared retirement he purchased several rental properties which he enjoyed renovating himself in his free time.

Always an early riser, Tom could be found having coffee at various local establishments where he enjoyed chatting with people, bragging about his grandchildren, and catching up on town news.

Tom leaves his wife Nancy (Ward/Mckenna) Kingston of Lancaster, sons John Mckenna of Manchester, NH, and Thomas J. Kingston and wife Andrea of Gilmanton IW, as well as three daughters Jackie Mckenna of Lancaster, Mary Walker and husband Michael of Keene, and Catherine Kingston and significant other Garrett Stumb of Nottingham. He leaves five grandchildren Emily, Dylan, Natalie, Madison, and Kelsey. Tom also leaves behind his beloved dog Ben.

There will be a memorial service held at the Methodist Church in Lancaster, at 3 PM on Friday the 24th, followed by a reception in the Methodist Hall until 6 PM. A private burial will be held the following morning at the Summer Street Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made in his name to the American Diabetes Association PO Box 11454, Alexandria, VA. 22312
