Thomas Barrett Woods

Thomas Barrett Woods, 73, of Jefferson New Hampshire passed away on Thursday, August 29th, 2024. Tom was born to Philip & Dorothy Woods on February 10th, 1951 in Madison, Wisconsin. Later, Tom lived in Long Island, New York and Newark, Delaware. In 1971, Tom moved to New Hampshire and in the same year, married his wife of 53 years, Adele Davis. Together they had two children.

Tom worked as a carpenter, learning the skills to build his own home, and was the owner of multiple enterprises. Later in life he obtained his degree in special education from Lyndon State College. He would retire after twenty years of service with the State of Vermont as an educator at The Community High School of Vermont.

Known as a life long learner with varied interests, Tom had many hobbies and talents. In his youth, he worked on the Appalachian Mountain Club Trail Crew, sparking his move to New Hampshire. He was an avid rockhound and reader. Tom was the Cub Scout Den Leader of Pack 218 in Jefferson for several years and also assisted with Troop 218, participating in several 50 mile hiking trips. He built various projects including wind turbines, solar cells and acoustic guitars. Additionally, he grew grapes, made wine, and was interested in astronomy, even building his own telescope. At the Littleton Studio School, Tom first learned and then taught jewelry making.

Surviving Tom is his wife, Adele Woods; Sons Andrew Woods (Andrea) of Ridgefield, Washington & Jonathan (Ana Iris) Woods of Monte Plata, Dominican Republic; and Sister, Karen Woods (Ray Wilson) of Cumberland, Maine. Tom leaves behind five Grandchildren, Stella Blue, Soren, Dahiana, David & Danial.
