Timothy Paul
MacKillop
February 6, 1955 – May 5, 2026
Timothy Paul MacKillop, 71, of Lancaster, passed away on May 5, 2026. Born February 6, 1955, in Lancaster, New Hampshire. Tim lived a life full of laughter, stories, friendship, and unforgettable memories that will continue to live on through all who knew and loved him.
Tim was the son of the late Edward MacKillop and Marguerite Kennett MacKillop. He graduated from White Mountains Regional High School in 1973 and went on to work at Wausau Paper in Groveton. Even after retiring from the Mill, Tim could never truly stay retired. He later spent many years working as a groundsmen at The Waumbek Golf Course where he remained close to the game and place he loved so much.
Tim was a true North Country legend — a man whose personality filled every room he entered. Known for his quick humor, endless stories, and love of making people laugh, he had a way of bringing people together wherever he went. Whether at the golf course, around a card table, at hunting camp, or out on the dance floor, Tim made an impression that people never forgot.
A legendary golfer at the Waumbek Golf Course, Tim spent much of his life enjoying the game he loved. Golf was more than a hobby to him — it was a passion he proudly shared with others. He loved teaching the game, giving lessons, and helping others improve while enjoying every moment on the course.
In his younger years, Tim pulled horses alongside his father and later continued that tradition with Huntington Family Horse Pulling. Most recently he enjoyed spending time in the barn, offering his knowledge, doing chores and taking care of the horses — something that brought him great peace and happiness.
Tim belonged to the Men’s Auxiliary of the Veterans of Foreign Wars of Lancaster and the Sons of The American Legion of Groveton for many years.
He was well known throughout the community as an exceptional pool and dart player, competing in many leagues over the years. He was also a familiar face dealing poker at local card games.
Above all else, Tim’s greatest passion was hunting with his son, Trevor. Their hunting camp in Kentucky was his favorite place in the world — a place filled with memories, laughter, stories, and time spent together that Trevor will forever cherish. Trevor was his greatest pride and joy, and the person who brought him more happiness than anything else in this world.
Tim loved life deeply. He loved to joke, tell stories, dance, play cards, and spend time with family and friends. He was the kind of man who would do anything for anyone at any time if they needed him, always willing to lend a helping hand without hesitation.
He especially enjoyed the time he spent with his daughter-in-law, Stephanie, who held a very special place in his heart. Whether helping with home improvement projects, sharing golf lessons, entertaining her friends, or simply spending time together, Tim treasured the bond they shared.
For more than 40 years, Tim shared a life with Robin, and together they shared decades of memories, companionship, love, and the pride they both had for their son, Trevor. Tim loved Robins cooking.
Tim is survived by his son, Trevor MacKillop and his wife, Stephanie; Granddogs King and Prince; his longtime companion, Robin Fearon-MacKillop; Cheryl MacKillop, Jim (Sue) MacKillop, John (Sandy) MacKillop, Patty Kipp, Judy (Wayne) Paschal, Joy Bean, Richard MacKillop, Deb MacKillop (Raymond) and many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his brothers; Edward MacKillop, Robert MacKillop, Ronald MacKillop, Michael MacKillop; and his sisters Linda King Hopps and Peggy Brown.
There will be no calling hours or funeral services at this time. A celebration of Tim’s life will be held at a future date, details to be announced in the coming days. For those asking how to contribute to Tims memorial and celebration of life, donations may be made via Venmo @TimothyMackillopMemorial or by contacting the family directly.
Tim will be remembered for his humor, kindness, generosity, loyalty, and the unforgettable presence he brought into the lives of so many. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and everyone fortunate enough to know him.
