LANCASTER - V. Jean Bailey, 88, died Wednesday evening October 14, 2015 at Country Village Genesis Healthcare Center, Lancaster, where she has been a resident since 2007.
Mrs. Bailey was born on November 4, 1926 in Island Pond, VT, the daughter of Cydney and Marjorie (Hobbs) Barnes.
For 38 years she worked as a Register Nurse. Her nursing career included work at Weeks Memorial Hospital, Lancaster, NH, Brightlook Hospital, St. Johnsbury, VT and hospital work in Gladwin, Michigan. From 1983 to 1992 she operated Bailey's Shared Home in Lancaster with her son Scot.
She was a member of the North Star Chapter of the Order of the Eastern, Island Pond, VT.
Surviving family members include her son Scot M. Bailey of Lancaster; a brother Belvin Barnes of Bartlett, NH; three sisters, Ava Marshall of Northumberland, NH, Helen Sims of Alberg, VT, and Joyce Caouette of Berlin, NH.
A graveside service will be held Thursday morning, October 22, at 11:00 AM in Summer Street Cemetery, Lancaster. Reverend Ronald Florence of Lancaster will officiate.
