LANCASTER - Victoria I. Beaton (Buteau) passed away on Tuesday, May 29, 2018, at her home after a brief illness surrounded by her loving family.
Victoria was born April 4, 1926, in Marshfield, VT. She was the daughter of Gaudias (Joe) and Roseanna (LaRocque) Buteau. Victoria and her nine older siblings were raised in homes across the North Country, her family following lumbering work provided in logging camps throughout the Great North Woods. She graduated from Lancaster Academy in 1944.
On June 13, 1945, she married Robert J. Beaton, Sr. and together they raised three sons, Robert Jr., Timothy and Stephen. Besides her parents, she is predeceased by her husband, Robert (Bob) Beaton Sr. who passed away on April 6, 2017. Victoria began working for her husband as a bookkeeper at J.S. Beaton & Sons Plumbing after her boys started school. She retired in the late 1970's.
Victoria (Vickie) was a woman of great faith and integrity, and was a member of the All Saints' Catholic Church in Lancaster, NH. She raised her three boys in the church and made sure they were good altar boys. Her greatest love was her family. Family always came first. She was a role model and a source of strength for all her children and grandchildren, Wendy, Robbie, Christopher and Alex. Each family member has cherished stories of time spent with her. She was a wonderful baker, and an unbelievable housekeeper. She loved sitting on her front porch during the summer months watching baseball games at the Colonel Town Fields. A few balls always seemed to come her way and bounce off the house or into windows.
She leaves behind her three children Robert J. Beaton, Jr. (spouse Linda), Timothy Beaton, and Stephen Beaton (spouse Jayne). Four grandchildren Wendy Beaton Boucher (Spouse Paul), Robbie Beaton (spouse Karen), Christopher Beaton and Alex Beaton. She also leaves behind three great-grandchildren, Peyton Boucher, Tyler Beaton and Zachary Beaton. All were the apple of her eye.
A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Saturday June 2nd at 11:00 AM at All Saints Catholic Church and burial following at the Calvary Catholic Cemetery on North Main Street in Lancaster. Reverend Matthew Mason, pastor, will officiate.
A luncheon will be provided by the Tabernacle Society Ladies group after the burial.
The family would like to thank all the wonderful caregivers that made it possible for Victoria to stay in her home during her illness. She loved her home and it meant so much to her to be where she was the most comfortable.
The family has requested, in lieu of flowers, that donations be made to the All Saints' Catholic Church in Lancaster or the Tabernacle Society of all Saints' Catholic Church.
