Obituary

Virginia "Ginny" Pippin Clifford, lovingly known as "Mem" to many, passed away peacefully, leaving behind a legacy of love, hard work, and deep devotion to family and community.

Ginny was born on November 4, 1931, in Easton, Maryland, the daughter of James Olin Pippin and Margaret Baxter Pippin. She was raised in Centreville, Maryland, where she graduated from Queen Anne's County High School in 1948. She continued her education in Wilmington, Delaware, earning an Associate's Degree in Business.

Following her studies, Ginny began her professional career with Traveler's Insurance Company in Wilmington. During this time, she met her future husband, Donald A. Clifford, who was stationed at Dover Air Force Base. The couple married on May 3, 1952, and, after his military service, settled in his hometown of Ludlow, Massachusetts, where they began raising their family.

Ginny dedicated 15 years as a stay-at-home mother, creating a warm and nurturing home. She later returned to the workforce, contributing her time at The Children's Institute in Ludlow. In 1977, the family relocated to Stark, New Hampshire, where Ginny would spend the remainder of her life.

A strong and hardworking woman, Ginny was employed at the Groveton Paper Mill well into her seventies. Even after retiring, her desire to stay active and connected led her to work at Al's Plumbing in Groveton, where she formed many lasting friendships.

In 2026, Ginny was honored as the recipient of the Boston Post Cane, recognizing her as the oldest resident of the Town of Stark-a distinction that reflected both her longevity and her deep roots in the community she cherished.

Ginny was beloved by her family and extended community. She was affectionately known as "Mem” not only by her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, but also by their many friends—a testament to her warm, welcoming spirit.

She is survived by her daughters, Karen Lavigne and her husband David, and Donna Keddy and her husband Bruce; her grandchildren, Christine Frenette, Nathaniel Keddy, and Jon Emerson; and her ten great-grandchildren: Lydia, Corbin, Lylah, Natalie, Vivian, Ella, Eden, Ezra, lan, and Sean. She is also survived by many beloved nieces and nephews.

Ginny was predeceased by her husband, Donald A. Clifford, and her brother, James O. Pippin, Jr.

A Celebration of Ginny's Life will be held at a later date.
