Wallace L. "Red" Skinner

February 10, 1933 — November 25, 2011

LANCASTER - Wallace L. "Red" Skinner, 78, of Garland Road, died Friday evening, November 25, 2011, at his home surrounded by family.

Mr. Skinner was born in Barton, VT, on February 10, 1933, the son of Lynn and Dora (Blake) Skinner.

He was raised in South Wheelock, VT, and later moved to Lancaster where he has resided for the past 57 years.  He worked as a sales representative for Cray Oil for 25 years and later Northern Petroleum until his retirement in 1998.  His territory covered much of NH and VT.  He was proud of his many accomplishments including his success as a sales rep and acquiring his GED after retirement.  He was also an avid outdoorsman.

Memberships included the Groveton Moose Club and the Lancaster Rotary.

Family members include his wife of 61 years Marion A. (Cota) Skinner of Lancaster; a son Steven Skinner of Colebrook; two daughters, Wallinda "Cindy" Gauvin of Glendale, AZ, Cheryl L. McLaughlin of Groveton; 4 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Norman L. Skinner of Lancaster, Everett E. Skinner of Goffstown, NH; and several nieces and nephews. His brother, Dean Skinner, predeceased him.

Memorial visiting hours will be held Thursday morning, December 1, from 10:00AM to 12:00 PM at the Bailey Funeral Home.  A graveside committal will be held immediately after in Summer Street Cemetery.  Rev. Richard Phillips of Littleton will officiate.

Donations in lieu of flowers may be made in his memory to Northwoods Home Health & Hospice, 278 Main Street, Lancaster, NH 03584.
