Wayne Cross

Wayne H. Cross, 81 of North Haverhill, New Hampshire passed away on Wednesday, December 25th, 2024. He was born to Stephen and Lucinda Cross on July 10th, 1943 in West Stewartstown, New Hampshire. Wayne was a graduate of Colebrook Academy. In March of 1964, Wayne married his wife of 60 years, Connie Hartlen in Colebrook. He had four children.
After working at Tillotson Rubber Factory and Ethan Allen Furniture, Wayne joined the Colebrook police force in 1967. He proudly served for over 25 years and became the Chief of Police after numerous promotions. He retired from the force in 1993. After retirement, Wayne worked as a security guard at the Littleton Social Security office.
Wayne enjoyed playing cards, scratch tickets and going to the Foxwood Casinos. He also enjoyed watching the Boston Red Sox and New England Patriots, as well as spending time with family.
Predeceasing Wayne in passing are his parents, wife and siblings; Wendel, Thomas, Steve, Bernard and Beverly. He is survived by his four children, Reneé Cross (Daniel Prehemo) of Colebrook, New Hampshire; Shelley Attaway (Steve) of Wilson, North Carolina; Wendy Cross (Scott Therrien) of Pittsburg, New Hampshire and Lisa Knapp (Matt O’Brien) of Littleton, New Hampshire. He also leaves two brothers, Richard Cross and Wilbur Cross; sister, Linda Estabrook; seven grandchildren: Natasha, Bryanna, Aleesha, Brenda, Kendra, Jaya and Kiera as well as four great-grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.
There will be no calling hours. A celebration of life will take place in the summer.
