Wayne Marshall

July 14, 1929 — December 9, 2023

Wayne passed away peacefully on December 9, 2023. He was born July 14, 1929, in Lancaster, NH to the late Chester Marshall and Mildred Munn.

He joined the Navy the day after he turned 17 years old. He was In the Navy 4 years …. first on the Wilkes Barre, but most of his time was on the USS Manchester.

In 1950 he married Patricia Merrow, moved to Manchester, NH, and attended Hesser, a two-year business college. Shortly after graduation he started working for N.E Telephone in Lancaster. He was transferred to Manchester, lived In Auburn where they made their home for 30 years. In 1979 Wayne was transferred back to Lancaster where he retired June 25, 1987.

Wayne loved golf, music, dancing, playing guitar, traveling in the motorhome, and playing cards. He was a fun person to be around and enjoyed new experiences. In 2012 he decided to move to Florida where they had spent the last 25 winters at Olde Mill Stream RV Park in Umatilla, FL. They were familiar with the area where they purchased their new home. He continued with golf, bowling, and dancing as long as his health allowed.

Survivors include his wife of 71 years, Patricia Marshall, two sons ... James, who lives in Waterville, VT, and John, who lives in Flowery Branch, GA. Also, a sister, Carol Turza who lives in Newport Richey, FL. He was predeceased by 2 sisters. Lillian Ayer and Ruth Currier, and a brother, Rodney Marshall.

Visiting hours will be Friday, May 3, 2024, from 6:00 to 8:00PM. at Bailey Funeral Home of Lancaster, NH. Funeral services will be Saturday, May 4, 2024, at 11:00AM
