WENDELL E. ROCK
GROVETON, NH/SPRING HILL, FL – Wendell “Rocky” Ernest Rock, 73, formerly of Marietta Lane, Northumberland, NH passed away at Madison Pointe Nursing Home, New Port Richey, FL, on Sunday, July 31, 2022.
Wendell was born in Richford, VT, on June 19, 1949, the son of Paul Rock and Lucille (Pinsonneault) Rock Howland. He served in the Vietnam War for the US Army, as an engineer. He was on active duty for 8 months, and was honorably discharged in 1969. He was raised in St. Johnsbury and for a time resided in Concord, East Concord, and Gilman. For over 20 years he was a resident of Northumberland, NH. He worked for Gilman Paper and later Simpson Paper Company retiring as a foreman in 2002. He moved to Florida in 2020 and lived with Lori, David, Crissy and Brittany for almost 2 years, then his illness put him in the nursing home.
Rocky had many hobbies including hunting, fishing, boating, riding motorcycles, tinkering in the garage, watching movies, and spending time with his family. He loved barbeques and pizza parties.
Surviving family members include his children Lori Duenas and David Hebert of Spring Hill, FL; Peggy Grant and Stephen of Belmont, NH; Paul Rock and Katy Valdez of Danville, VT; his stepchildren Rebecca Paquette of Groveton, Bruce Paquette of Manchester, NH, Marshall “Tiger” Laundry of Groveton, and Jimmy Laundry of Hardwick, VT; grandchildren Ricardo Dueñas of Greenfield, NH, Cristina Dueñas and Brittany Hebert of Spring Hill, FL and many more grandchildren and great-grandchildren; his sister Norma Kimball of Danville, VT; numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was predeceased by his wife Judith Laundry Rock in March of this year, sister Yvette Walker of Sheffield, VT in March of 2021, and his first son-in-law Gustavo Dueñas Garcia in 2000.
A graveside service with military honors will be held Saturday, June 17, 2023 at 11:00AM in the Northumberland Cemetery.
