GUILDHALL - William H. Astle, 63, died suddenly at his home Sunday morning, January 8, 2017.
Mr. Astle was born in Lancaster on August 4, 1953, the son of Edgar and Marian (Teare) Astle.
Bill worked as a social worker at Alpha House and NH Human Services. Later he worked at the Groveton Wausau Paper Mills as the Shipping and Warehouse Superintendent until retirement in 2005.
Bill and Regina designed their home on Fellows Road in Guildhall. He enjoyed being outdoors creating a landscaper's dream lawn and gardens. On the property both he and Regina worked to create trails through the woods to snowshoe or ski in the winter, and to walk throughout the year. He loved to listen to folk and bluegrass music, and attending live performances. He was a wonderful husband and brother and a kind friend to all who knew him.
He was raised in Groveton, NH, and attended school there. He graduated valedictorian of his class, and went to UNH. He graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in Social Sciences.
He has a sister, Susan L. Astle of Berlin, NH. Regina's brothers: Stephen (Donna) DeBoer and their children Lindsay (Bill) Simurra and Chip DeBoer; Fred (Mary) DeBoer and their children Michele DeBoer and Lynda DeBoer. He has a Goddaughter, Katherine Christopher (Doug) McMann of Lancaster. He also leaves Aunts Carolyn Astle of Berlin, CT and Pearl Koskela of Dublin, NH, many cousins and extended family. He leaves many wonderful, caring friends who supported him and Regina in life and during his illness.
A memorial service is being planned at a later date.
