William “Willie” S. Donaghy, 72 of Gilman, Vermont passed away on Saturday, April 25th surrounded by family. Will was born on October 7th, 1953 to Howard & Melba (Bunnell) Donaghy in Concord, Vermont. He graduated from Concord High School. For many years he drove truck for Normandeau Trucking and later worked for PAC 2000 in Lancaster. He enjoyed spending time with family, mowing lawns, and plowing driveway.
Surviving family members include his two daughters and their spouses, Cheryl Lapoint (Michael) Karen Call (Rubin).Two grandchildren, Brandon Call, Alyson Brown-Lapoint and two great-grandchildren, Caleb and Paighten Call. Surviving Siblings include: Marion Sweatt (Dean) of Groveton, NH, Christine Oliver of St. Johnsbury, VT, Lana Mitchell of Lyndonville, VT, Howard Donaghy St. Johnsbury, VT, Kenneth Donaghy of Sheffield, VT, and Dale Donaghy (Rose) of Lyndonville, VT as well as brothers-in-law William (Donna) and Kenneth Brown and sisters-in-law, Carol Lane and Mary Jean Brown. He is also survived by many cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.
Predeceasing William in passing is his wife, Florence Brown his parents, his sisters: Polly Patridge, Mildred Garfield, and Alice Sausville and brothers-in-law Douglas, Everett, Donald, Gary, Solon & John. William has been a lifetime resident of Gilman except for a brief stint in Concord.
William will be laid to rest at Riverside Cemetery in Lunenburg at 11am on Saturday, June 20th, 2026. A Celebration of Life for Willie & Florence will take place at 2408 River Road in Gilman following the service. In lieu of flowers, Memorial Contributions can be made to Caledonia Home Health & Hospice as a special thank you for the care given to the family.
